This Months AUDIO FILE

Our turnout for the meeting this month was notably down from our average attendance. Speculation was it could have been affected by the County Fair that had just started, or perhaps the heat kept a lot of folks at home. At any rate, there was only about a dozen members in attendance. As of this posting, we have certainly been "enjoying" a heat wave. Triple digits are not all that great for detecting. It's not only the heatstroke factor, but the ground is like cement. This is a good time of year to hit the parks and playgrounds, however. Lots of activity and lots of ground to cover. An amazing amount of jewelry and coins are lost every year at organized sporting events and by folks just out enjoying the green grass and shady trees. And a big plus is that the ground is irrigated and soft. Make sure you check the

local regulations before you get started!

Remember that the deadline for the club logo patch is NEXT MONTH! Get a move on and sketch up a couple of ideas. It might be worth

some silver in your pocket if your design is chosen.

Gary P. saved a contractor at one of the local schools a lot of hassle by locating his key ring, even before the fellow knew that it was

missing! Amazing what a inconvenience it is to loose all your keys.

Frank brought a couple of nice nuggets that he dredged up over the last month, but was lamenting that with the upturn of gas prices, it was getting harder and harder to scare up enough gold to make costs for the weekend. It would be nice to clear some profit after expenses. Between you and me,

I think Frank does ok. Remember...
