This months meeting was a bit of a short one, but productive none the less. Tony, a new member that just joined the club, has been hard at it and came up with some interesting finds. Check out his stuff on the following pages.

During the last month, Frank bumped into a fellow that, through some research, located a wishing well dating back to the 60's. Now, that's not real old, but you know that there is going to be some cool stuff down. At any rate, this fellow got permission from the landowner to excavate the well and split any bounty that may come from the effort. We are all hoping that the guy will get in touch with Frank when the deed is done and report back to us just what was found. I love a good mystery!

Did you hear the news of the gentleman in Europe that located a treasure "jug"  of old coins? Here is an excerpt from the news story...

LONDON
Roman coins found in field
A treasure hunter has found about 52,500 Roman coins, one of the largest such discoveries ever in Britain, officials said Thursday.
The hoard, which was valued at 3.3 million pounds ($5 million), includes hundreds of coins bearing the image of Marcus Aurelius Carausius, who seized power in Britain and northern France in the late third century and proclaimed himself emperor.
Dave Crisp, a treasure hunter using a metal detector, located the coins in April in a field in southwestern England, according to the Somerset County Council and the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
The coins were buried in a large jar about a foot (30 centimeters) deep and weighed about 350 pounds in all.

And we have guys around here that are happy to find 3000 coins in a year!

In other news, our own Ed W has been declared the winner for the best "pouch" of the year for his efforts over in Colchester. The best "pouch" is the overall best collection of finds located in one trip. Congratulations Ed!

Ed R and his son Travis completed a round trip ride on their motorcycles to the Grand Canyon. No detecting but a fantastic trip.

Gary P has a nice surprise upcoming for one lucky looser in the next few days. We will bring you up to date on the next months web page as to the ultimate outcome.

Coming up at the next meeting, Ed R will be hosting a contest based on the index page for our own Rogue Valley CoinShooters website. A silver 50 Cent piece will be awarded to the participant that can answer up to three questions pertaining to the opening page for this months site. If more than one participant knows all three answers, then all those that have the right answers will be entered into a drawing for the prize.

Pay attention to what is going on in the opening page this month, and be ready to answer three questions next month at the meeting!
